10 Demand Generation Conferences You Must Attend in 2018

It’s event planning season here at Integrate.  As event marketing extraordinaire, I’ve been up to my eyeballs researching B2B marketing and demand generation conferences for our 2018 event marketing initiatives. At the same time, I’m trying to map out which demand generation conferences I want (and need) to attend.

I get it – conference planning seems like a daunting task, and sometimes it’s easier just to keep our suitcases in the closet and stay home. As B2B marketers, it’s imperative for us to get in the field for in-person marketing events for a couple of reasons.

3 Reasons to Get to at Least One Demand Generation Conference Each Year

  • Learning new demand generation and B2B marketing strategies from industry experts. Let’s face it. There’s no better place to find numerous great marketing minds under one roof than at the industry’s largest conferences.
  • Understanding the demand gen challenges that other marketers are facing. You’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with thousands of peers in keynotes, workshops and challenge-specific content sessions. Many of them will openly share their marketing challenges and successes, giving you a road map of what to expect and how to navigate the course.
  • Evaluating new demand generation tools and software. Events are a great opportunity to seek out and size up new marketing technology vendors. Here’s a list of some top demand generation tools so you can start planning your attack.

With hopes of sorting out my own schedule, and helping out my fellow B2B marketers, I’ve compiled a list of ten chronologically ordered, major marketing conferences so you can start planning.

Top 10 B2B Marketing and Demand Generation Conferences

1. B2B Marketing Exchange

When: February 19-21, 2018

Where: Scottsdale, AZ

Why: To kick off the 2018 season let’s start with a refreshing, not Las Vegas conference geared towards performance-driven B2B marketers. Priding themselves on having the ability to bring together every facet of B2B marketing, I expect this event to arm us with great strategies for 2018.

This year’s speakers include Matt Senatore of SiriusDecisions, Edwin Wong of Buzzfeed, and Pam Didner of Relentless Pursuit.

2. TOPO Summit

When: March 20-21, 2018

Where: San Francisco, CA

Why: If you’re looking for new revenue-driving strategies in 2018, here’s an opportunity to mingle with 1500+ revenue marketing leaders. Although TOPO is a short trip, there’s a lot to be gained from the industry’s top sales and marketing experts. Last year, our recent guest blogger Jennifer Dimas, VP of Integrated Marketing and Business Ops at Plex spoke at TOPO Summit.

3. Adobe Digital Marketing Summit

When: March 25-29, 2018

Where: Las Vegas, NV

Why: You can only avoid Vegas for so long – and you don’t want to miss this one. Adobe Summit attracts a hefty digital marketing community ranging from executives to analysts, usually around 10,000 strong. If the networking opportunity isn’t selling you, they’ve also hosted some killer speakers in the past (oh hey, George Clooney).

4. MarTech Conference

When: April 23-25, 2018

Where: San Francisco, CA

Why: If you’re feeling the need to be immersed in strategy discussion for three whole days, block off your calendars because you’re headed to MarTech. Geared specifically towards the marketing technology community and the tech managers who eat, sleep and breathe the martech landscape. While you won’t get the same celebrity hype that you would from some of the other events on this list, this may be one of the most educational conferences you attend all year.

5. Marketo Marketing Nation Summit

When: April 29-May 2, 2018

Where: San Francisco, CA

Why: Some of the best speakers and brightest B2B marketing minds in the industry come together under one roof for four days. Marketing Nation is sure to deliver invaluable networking experiences with the 100+ partners they house in the expo hall.

Past speakers include the carpool karaoke extraordinaire, James Corden and Queen Latifah.

6. SiriusDecisions Summit

When: May 8-11, 2018

Where: Las Vegas, NV

Why: If you’re a B2B marketer, this is one conference you don’t want to miss. If you value staying ahead of the digital marketing curve and #SDSummit isn’t already on your list for 2018 stops, it’s time to seriously reassess your priorities. Here’s what I mean: let’s throw it back to 2017 summit and the year’s buzzed about topic. The new demand waterfall, unveiled by Terry Flaherty and Kerry Cunningham essentially broke the B2B marketing internet.

7. Content Marketing World

When: September 4-7, 2018

Where: Cleveland, OH

Why: Switching gears a bit, CMWorld is more of a pinpointed event focusing on (you guessed it) content marketing. Boasting the largest content event around, marketers can expect to leave with actionable takeaways to develop their content strategy and build their business. Drawing a crowd of 4000+, you can bet you’ll have plenty of networking opportunities to spread your brand message in between strategy sessions. CMWorld has also attracted the likes of some worthy speakers – award winning actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt was featured in 2017.

8. Inbound

When: September 4-7, 2018

Where: Boston, MA

Why: Finally. Let’s bring some marketing minds to the east coast and share the wealth. Inbound has something for everyone from SEO insights to email marketing. To top it off, they’ve hosted some seriously cool speakers in the past (ever heard of Michelle Obama?). Oh, and last but not least at least 19,000 marketing peers to share demand generation tactics and strategies with.

9. Forrester B2B Marketing Forum

When: October 2018

Where: Austin, TX 

Why: As you could have guessed, we’re turning the focus back to the B2B marketer here – specifically the C-Suite and upper management. While at B2B Marketing Forum, expect skills around customer marketing and retention to be sharpened.

10. MarketingProfs B2B Marketing Forum

When: November 13-16, 2018

Where: San Francisco, CA

Why: From what I’ve heard, the MarketingProfs B2B Marketing Forum is the Disney World of conferences – and has been for over a decade. Designed specifically for today’s B2B marketer, the days are filled with strategy sessions and speakers to satisfy any modern marketer and nights with enough entertainment to satisfy well, anyone.

There you have it – ten demand generation conferences that will keep you learning new marketing strategies and meeting other marketers all year. So start planning, packing, and purchasing those plane tickets because your calendar just filled itself.
